Sharon Keith is the Marketing Director of Coca-Cola South Africa. She is a veteran marketer, with more than 25 years' of experience across a number of blue-chip, multinational FMCG businesses.
Sharon developed her marketing skills as a graduate trainee with Unilever from 1987, working primarily in the tea and coffee categories in South Africa. She interrupted her career in 1995 to complete an MBA at the Graduate School of Business in Cape Town, and practised her skills and knowledge with a short stint in strategic consulting with Deloitte & Touche.
Sharon then joined TheCoca-Cola Company in 1996, as Brand Manager on Fanta, progressing to Marketing Manager on fruit flavoured drinks through to an assignment in Atlanta as Global Brand Director on Powerade. In early 2000, Sharon returned to Coca-Cola South Africa where she held a number of senior strategic marketing roles, culminating in the role as Marketing Director for Southern Africa.
At the end of 2002, Sharon left Coca-Cola to join Guinness UDV in Cape Town as Marketing Director, and was a key member of the executive team that formed brandhouse, (a joint venture between Diageo, Heineken and Namibia Breweries). Sharon was Marketing Director of brandhouse for four years, and was then promoted to Global Brand Director on Baileys, based in Dublin. At the end of 2009, Sharon returned to Cape Town and set up a small business as an independent consultant and coach, working across categories, industries and markets, before re-joining Coca-Cola Southern Africa.
