Lagos, Nigeria, 4 February 2016 – Students at the University of Port Harcourt were recently treated to a pleasant surprise as they set out on their daily morning activity and were met with a Coca-Cola customization booth, red carpet, and pop music.

The customization booth which was set up in the Abuja Park of the prestigious university had passersby wondering what the “event” was. Soon there were queues filled with hundreds of people excited at the prospect of customizing Coca-Cola cans for themselves and their loved ones and receiving the cans in just a few minutes.

Interested participants were simply required to purchase a can of Coca-Cola at the standard rate of 100 naira, and pen down what feelings or expressions they would like customized on them

A look at some of the Coca-Cola cans popping out of the customization booths revealed a prevalence of romantic feelings, validations and love expressions such as “Wife For Life”, “ Ruthy loves Gray” “I love you Chinedu”  “I miss you K.C Beau”. Others customized the -Coca-Cola cans with names, and nicknames while the creatively inclined opted for cans with smileys such as “Cool”, “Cute” printed on them.

Commenting on the presence of the customization booth at the school, University of Port Harcourt student, Henrietta Okosi said “I have been seeing Coca-Cola bottles with names on them in the supermarket but have never seen my name on any. I also always wished I could get one with my family’s name on it, and today I got the opportunity to do so without having to pay extra or wait for too long.”

According to the Marketing Director, Coca-Cola Nigeria, Patricia Jemibewon;  the customization booths will be available in select locations countrywide. “Love, appreciation, affection; these are all universal emotions, and Coca-Cola wants to bring a medium to express these feelings to the doorstep of our customers. We want to be a part of our customers’ happiness. The impact so far has been great with people across the country sharing their feelings in such creative ways and we are constantly thinking of ways to make this easier for them” she said.

The Share A Feeling campaign, launched in 2015; is one of Coca-Cola’s most successful campaigns so far, as the company keeps coming up with ways to engage with its customers, while playing a part in the continued success of their friendships, relationships and other life experiences.
