Jacqui is responsible for leading the BU’s innovation agenda and the successful execution of the Innovation, Ventures, Emerging Brands (VEB) and M&A strategies in close collaboration with the Franchises. She aims to inspire the system to embrace innovation as a core mindset, competency and value driver. She also leads the global Appletiser business, with full responsibility of the global expansion and revenue management.

Jacqui is a seasoned business leader with a wide range of experiences varying business and geographic contexts, including FMCG, beverages and financial services.  

She joins us from Standard Bank where she was the Marketing Director for various business units, including Personal and Business Banking, as well as Wealth. While there she developed and implemented various strategies to extend Standard Bank market positioning; led the marketing, communications and research for the business – through which she won various industry awards for integrated campaigns and branded content.

Jacqui’s career started in 1994 as a Research Executive and was eventually an Account Director with Research Surveys (now Kantar TNS). She then moved on to SAB Limited as the Customer Insights Manager in 1998 and moved into Marketing as a Brand Manager for Redd’s in 2000. She was promoted to the role of Brand Group Manager in 2001, and then moved to London in 2005 as the International Brand Director, Innovation and Development Brands for SAB Miller where she developed the global innovation and marketing strategies for international brands implemented across several of their developed and emerging markets.

In 2007, Jacqui moved to Wimpy (Famous Brands SA) as the Marketing Director where she developed and implemented a competitive market positioning for the Wimpy brand and worked on new business development in mapping potential new franchise locations for the business. Thereafter, she joined Ferrero South Africa as Marketing Director in 2008 where she developed and implemented the marketing and communication strategies and plans for all the Ferrero brands within South Africa, as well as led the localisation of marketing platforms for their brand portfolio. 

While at Research Surveys, Jacqui won the SAMRA/ Impact Innovation Award for the most innovative research paper: The Total Onslaught: measuring by-in to change processes. At SAB Limited she grew the Redd’s brand from a position of double digit decline to triple digit growth and a market leader as well as implemented an innovative approach to television sponsorship that was nominated for a Roger Garlick award.

Jacqui has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Witwatersrand, as well as an MBA and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the Gordan Institute of Business Science.
