Priya is responsible for leading the Digital strategy for the business unit. The role aims to steward and role-model the organization to embrace a Digital growth mindset by creating digital capabilities to support a connected ecosystem. Priya is digitizing the internal landscape of the business unit, as well as encouraging a fluid learning culture that monitors trends, disruptive market forces and competitive moves.  She is also responsible for driving innovative business development and partnership opportunities with leading players in the digital space as well as effectively support the Europe, Middle East & Africa Group Digital Council to maximize synergies and common bets.

Priya is a Digital veteran and a transformative leader, with a track-record of 20 years in leading Digital functions in large international retail and banking consumer businesses.  She has had experiences in running and building revenue generating web and mobile channels, using customer-led, human centered design approaches to create relevant market fit propositions and exceptional customer experiences.  She has a strong understanding of working through the complexities of businesses, cultures and growth markets whilst driving digital transformations.

Priya joins Coca-Cola from ABSA (previously Barclays Africa Group) where she was the Head of Digital Strategy & Commercialization, a role that she took on having joined the Group as the Head of Online Channels for Retail and Business Banking, where she steered the Digital strategy for the South Africa franchise while enabling the group’s strategy and objectives through balancing customer centricity, commercial opportunities, digital transformation and industry regulation.  Prior to that, Priya was the eBusiness Integration Manager at Edcon, where she was involved in the very early stages of establishing an omni-channel vision and executed on the strategy by establishing integrated digital channels. 

Priya has had previous experiences as a SAP Consultant with IBM as well as worked with a number of companies as an IT, lead both in South Africa and USA.  With her entrepreneurial flare, Priya has founded a number of companies in line with her passion in the online market spaces as well as in the software-as-a-service business spaces.  She continues to exercise her entrepreneurial mindset with new ventures as exciting opportunities arise.

Priya holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Engineering from Mercer University, Georgia, USA and an Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) from University of Pretoria, South Africa.  She has also attended the International Executive Development Program (IEDP) from Henley Business School, South Africa.

Priya is passionate about all things digital, human centered design, machine learning, Lego® Mindstorms, #HumanTech, #FinTech as well as entrepreneurship.  She is a fellow of the Global Women’s Leadership Network (Santa Clara University) and was in 2017 nominated as a Young Global Leader with the World Economic Forum. She is a regular speaker in forums on Digital In Business Transformation, Strategy and Emerging Markets and was recently selected to facilitate a course on Digital Strategy for Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
