Yebeltal Getachew (YG) is the General Manager of the Coca-Cola Nigeria Franchise, responsible for leading and optimizing profitable revenue and volume growth of Coca-Cola brands in Nigeria.

Prior to assuming his current role, YG was the General Manager in charge of leading the development and execution of a growth, innovation and investment strategy for the Stills beverages portfolio (Juice, Water, Dairy and Energy drinks) for Coca-Cola and its bottling partners in the West Africa Business Unit.

Since joining the company in the year 2000 as Marketing Manager for Horn of Africa, YG has held several positions of increasing responsibility.

In 2003, he was appointed Operations Marketing Rep. for Ethiopia and Djibouti and as Country Lead for Mauritius in 2007. While in Mauritius, YG won the prestigious annual Central East and West Africa Business Unit (CEWABU) Values Champion Award.

YG took up the role of Executive Assistant to the Business Unit President for CEWA BU, until 2011 when he was appointed as the Senior Commercial Manager for the Business Unit. In this role, he was credited for developing and rolling out best-in-class frameworks and training modules for initiatives such as Right Execution Daily (RED) and Third-party Distributor Operation Standard Assessment (DOSA).

In 2013, YG was appointed as Country Manager for Tanzania and subsequently as the Regional Franchise Manager for Ethiopia, Eritrea, Uganda and Mozambique, a position he held until 2016 when he was appointed Customer & Commercial Leadership Director for the West Africa Business Unit based in Lagos, Nigeria.

YG holds an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School – Herriot Watt University Scotland and B.Sc. in International Business Administration from the United States International University in Kenya. He also holds an Executive MBA from the Harvard Business School through the Coca-Cola Contour program (class of 2019).
