Coca-Cola South Africa (CCSA) was named winner in the Agriculture and Food category of the South African Climate Change Leaders Awards (CCLA) in March 2012. The CCLA is the first initiative in Africa to recognise, reward, motivate and celebrate businesses, communities, youth, schools and individuals leading the way in climate change response and mitigation.

Private sector entries were judged on various criteria including strategic commitment; disclosure; performance; and advocacy and influence. Judges commended CCSA’s dual approach to addressing climate change by ‘cutting carbon emissions and increasing energy efficiency.’
