In July 2011, the Valpré bottling plant administration building in Heidelberg was awarded a Gold Award under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, an internationally accepted benchmark for design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.

The Valpré facility maximizes recycled materials by using 99 percent of its waste, treats 100 percent of effluent and has a “zero to landfill” target, to name but a few of the environmental credentials the facility can claim. The bottling plant makes optimal use of solar energy by using solar panels to power its offices, and conserves water by recycling used water and harvesting rain water.
