Appletiser is a 100% sparkling apple juice, with no added sugar and no preservatives in the Glass and Can packs. Appletiser is a premium brand which has created its own niche between soft drinks and fruit juices. It has positioned itself as a luxurious treat for adults to enjoy in social environments.
It all started in 1966 from fallen apples on a farm in Elgin Valley which was and still is an orchard known for producing the finest fruits in the Western Cape, a province in South Africa. The idea of creating a lightly carbonated refreshing apple beverage led to the innovative establishment of the world sensational brand through the vision of Edmond Lombardi, an apple farmer. By combining the words ‘apple’ and ‘appetiser’ - Lombardi trademarked the drink as Appletiser. Just two years after Appletiser's establishment, the beverage was being distributed into all corners of South Africa and some parts of the world such as the Middle East, the Far East, England, and some African countries such as the Congo, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, and Lesotho.
In 1981, Appletiser launched its two sister brands: Red and White Grapetiser but today it has grown to consist of five additional variants which are Appletiser Amber, Peartiser, White Grapetiser, Red Grapetiser, Appletiser Pink, with Appletiser as the mother brand.

Earlier this year, Appletiser and Peartiser both received the Golden Stars Award for Superior Taste - the only stamp of quality in taste granted by food and drink opinion leaders that are Michelin starred Chefs and Sommeliers. The Jury of the International Taste & Quality Institute (iTQi) is the largest jury of Chefs, Sommeliers and opinion leaders in taste from 17 different nationalities. Appletiser received 2 stars, labelled as a Remarkable Product. Peartiser received 3 stars, and was labelled as an Exceptional Product. The brand has also captured the interest of the youth, previously being named the second coolest beverage brand by the Sunday Times Generation Next Survey for two successive years in 2015 and 2016 in South Africa.
